The Edge Protection Federation exists to provide the industry with a single, authoritative body to act as a representative voice and ensure that high standards in manufacture, supply and application of edge protection systems are maintained and advanced.

With increased emphasis on working at height and other areas of health and safety, the federation aims to offer a forum for the discussion of industry issues, liaison with governmental and other bodies involved in legislation and regulation across the construction industry, guidance on all developments that affect the industry sector, and training programmes and publications relevant to the industry.

The introduction of BSEN13374 has led to the widespread adoption of this as the benchmark for edge protection safety. The EPF strongly support the Standard, but are concerned about the adoption by contractors of their own site-specific demands, as the implications of these requirements may not be fully realized.
The EPF run a tailored and comprehensive training scheme for edge protection centred around specific proprietory products and the BSEN 13374 Standard. Far too much edge protection is still installed through the use of just tool box talks, which we say is inadequate.
The EPF is a Federation of the leading edge protection suppliers in the UK. We provide the voice of the industry in supporting the BSEN13374 Standard and provide advice and guidance to enable edge protection to be safely installed. EPF membership will enable members to be involved in framing the safety policies for edge protection in the future.
